First of all I need to say that Russia was a positive surprise. I was waiting for to see a totally different culture than what was actually the reality. It might be our history that we are thinking that Russians are rude and their country is big and scary but it was totally opposite. People were very friendly there and the small cities with their old buildings and peaceful atmosphere were something that I want to see twice. AND I WILL!
4 weeks to go to Kazan and Universiades
But dropping weight was not as easy as I was expecting…. After I managed to drop to 65 kilos without big efforts I realized that going under it will be the tricky point. I cycled every f**** morning and did everything that Juha told me to do but still.. I lost fat but my body weight did not drop. Fine thing was that my tights got bigger (FTW I WAS ON A DIET??!?!?!??!?!?!??!? ) but my abs started to show.

So I spent long hours with a lot of clothes and some minutes in Sauna. My BW was 62,95 on the scale and it was time to start lifting.

I had some problems with my stomach and I could not eat and drink as much as I would have liked to. I felt myself very tired during the competition and afterwards I just went to sleep. But let’s talk more about the competition! The whole competition can be seen here: Click
I had decided to start with 150/85/170 but because of this stomach problem and seeing the list of the starters, Jani and Antti decided that it would be better to make sure that we will gather kilos against the 4th place (My starters were 3rd best). I started my squat with very easy 142,5 kilos lift and continued with 150 on my second attempt. Technically the best squat was my last one (155 kilos) which was too easy to be my last attempt. But anyway I should remember that WC is not for the result.. It is for the placing.

Bench was easy this time. I have not lifted 3 good lifts in a competition for a long time. 82,5 kg was an easy and smooth lift as well as the 87.5 kilos’ lift. My final attempt was 90 kilos and it was a great lift as well. But after my bench the problems with my stomach continued.


My DL was terrible, again. I have started to be tired with that! I lifted 160 and 170 but 177,5 was too much for me. With my 170 kilos lift I made a new Finnish record in total (415 kilos) and increased my Wilks points to 445,97 but still I am not happy..


Me, Antti, Johanna and Maria won all pronze in total so Finnish team was quite succesful! The trip was nice and first time for a long time I felt myself very happy with other lifters. Thank you for the nice discussion sets, Maria and Jossu.



Now in the end I will collect some ideas.
First of all I decided not to compete in under 63 kilos for a while. I need some hard training for weightlifting. About the next years World Championship I cannot say anything. But one thing is sure: now it’s time to concentrate on weightlifting. I will try to organize my life carefully so I can increase the tension of my trainings and keep my stress levels low enough.

In the end I want to thank my dear friend Jani Rainela for supporting and helping me in Russia. This medal was won by us both. Of course the reason for my development is Mika, my coach. I have 100 % trust in him.


Of course I want to thank the whole team Finland and especially Antti who helped me and Jani during my competition. I hope he will keep his promise and visit Helsinki during the summer!
