Spring has always meant to me  diet and competitions. Even thought Weightlifting Nationals are coming (as well as Powerlifting) I have not this special feeling. I am very uncertain about competing this time.

After December I have tried to heal my back. Like I thought it is muscular pain. I need to increase my abs and during working time I need to do some work out. I have found my old friend – the magnesium spray.  It has helped me a lot and I really need to use it now.

But that was my general news!

After my Graduating party and weekend in Vierumäki I spent weekend with my parents in Eura.  After Vierumäki I have some difficulties to manage my training program through because my back was hurting, again.  But still trainings on 10. February were better than before and I had some hope to compete in Kalajoki.  But my difficulties continued and my coach told me that he has no more time to coach me :'( On Monday we kept a meeting with Mika – Finnish National Team Coach – and talked what I should do. Mika promise to start coaching me (yippee :) ) and I had a good feeling to start my road tip and journey to Kalajoki where I supposed to stay the week 7.

We had our Team Building days in Kalajoki in week 7 and I flight to Oulu 12.2.g. I trained there with Miika Antti-Roiko (the best lifter in Finland and very good friend of mine – check out the video!) and I noticed that my back was very tight again. So less kilos on the bar and on Tuesday I just wanted to recover from travelling. But on Wednesday it was not better at all so it was time just to squat. And my bad phenomenon continues on Thurday.

During week 7 I spent a lot of time stretching and walking and recovering. It was a good idea and on Saturday I managed to snatch 75 kilos pretty easily in Rovaniemi. I was planned to stay the whole week 8 in Rollo, but a friend moved to Helsinki and asked me to join to the road trip. On Monday I trained last time in Rovaniemi before Nationals and I managed to C&J my new 2x record (check the video in the end). The whole Tuesday I spent in car and on Wednesday was time to train with Mika. It went pretty well. No huge pains, no failures. I felt my self pretty satisfied afterwards. This feeling continues on Thursday in Tampere.

On Saturday I trained together with guys from Pyrintö and Miika was there as well. He snatched his personal record (155kg) and clean and  jerk 200kgs. It might took some time before someone else do it at the Alasali :)

New Hair!

So quite boring life like I said but it is my normal spring! Training, training, less eating and waiting for summer.

I will write some news after my competitions and if there is a live stream I will give you a link. But you should not wait anything special now, because I am not waiting that either. I will need time to learn technigues if I really want to be a good Weightlifter :)

    ”Sori mutta mä en voi syödä gluteenia”, totesi ystäväni käydessään kylässä.
